During some late night internet surfing, I found an episode of Roxane Gay on Desus & Mero and decided to watch it because a mere two days before that, I had just wrapped her latest book, a memoir, Hunger. Roxane is a Haitian-American writer and professor from Omaha, Nebraska. She is a star! Roxane is a New York Times contributor, teaches at Purdue University, does cool things like take interviews with Desus & Mero, claps back on twitter, and now, I just learned, has a knack for good cocktails (this might be unbeknownst to her). The reason I know she can make some good drinks is because during the Desus and Mero interview, Desus asked Roxane to share her #1 traveling tip as she travels quite often. "Drink."

The conversation went something like this:

Desus: What is your number 1 travel tip?
Roxane: Drink
Desus:  Drink what?
Roxane: Alcohol
Desus: What type of alcohol?
Roxane: Gin
Mero: Oh word? we on a gin flow? I  fuck with Gin flow for a bit but then I thought it tastes like that shit they put the combs in at barbershop
Roxane: No,  you make it sweet. I put a little bit of grenadine and a little bit of tonic and call it a Bad Feminist.
Desus & Mero: NEW DRINK ALERT!!

And indeed it is a new drink alert because I tried it at home and I LOVE IT! This is the only way I want to drink gin moving forward. Please DO try this at home. With no further ado, Bad Feminist, The Cocktail.
