FLORIDA'S FIRST AND ONLY TWO-STAR MICHELIN RESTAURANT

Three days ago Florida finally and officially received its first-ever Michelin Guide with 11 restaurants receiving one star, and only one restaurant receiving two stars. No restaurants were awarded three stars. L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon, located in Miami’s Design District, is the only two-star restaurant in the state of Florida in 2022. I, living a mere 10 minutes away, had to go and experience it.

Long story short, L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon is something to sincerely write home about and mention the stellar staff, the fresh and delicious food, the well-portioned dishes, and of course, Joël Robuchon’s famous Purée De Pomme…


The restaurant has a few menus to choose from, but our pick was the Spring Menu at $190 per person which starts with a Foie Gras Royale, parmesan foam, essence of Maury ″Vieilles Vignes″ followed by the first course where you get one of three options. These are two of them:

LE CRUDO DE KAMPACHI

Hawaiian kampachi crudo served with a calamansi and satsuma dressing, turnip julienne and pistachios


LES CREVETTES DE KEY WEST

Key West Pink Shrimp with a habanero and shishito dressing, potatoes and sugar-snap peas


The 2nd course is also one choice of three incredible dishes. These are two of them:


LA SAINT-JACQUES

Scallop served in cilantro broth, coconut emulsion and calamari


LE PORC IBÉRIQUE

Grilled Iberico pork, root vegetables gratin, Szechuan peppercorn jus


The main course has four dishes to choose from. These were our two choices:


L’AGNEAU DU COLORADO

Colorado lamb saddle, spicy lamb sausage with green chard, crisp celery salad, hazelnut


LE BAR

Poached Black Bass, delicate marine mousse, mussel and vanilla broth, stuffed zucchini flower

Both served with a side of Joël Robuchon’s famous Purée De Pomme. These will be the best mash potatoes you will ever have.

After a plate cleanser, we received the desserts. From the dessert menu, we had two options and we each got one. They were very dreamy to look at and an amazing way to end the experience.

Spring carrot cake and mild goat cheese cream served with coconut sorbet, pecan nut crumble

LE CHOCOLAT SENSATION

Guanaja chocolate crémeux, white chocolate ice cream, Oreo cookie crumble
